Product does not turn on or keeps turning off
Possible causes |
Possible solutions |
Blown fuse / tripped breaker |
Check the fuse, located inline with the power cable. Ensure
that it has the correct rating (refer to the Inline fuse and thermal
breaker ratings section), as an under-rated fuse can affect the
power supplied to the product. If the fuse has blown, replace with
a new fuse.
Check the condition of relevant / additional fuses and breakers
and connections; replace if necessary.
If the fuse keeps blowing check for cable damage, broken connector
pins or incorrect wiring.
|
Poor / damaged / insecure power supply cable / connections |
Check the vessel’s battery voltage, the condition of the battery
terminals and power supply cables, ensuring connections are secure,
clean and free from corrosion; replace if necessary.
Check the power supply cable and connectors for signs of damage
or corrosion; replace if necessary.
Check that the power cable connector is fully inserted into
the unit and locked in position.
With the unit turned on, try flexing the power cable near to
the connector to see if this causes the unit to re-boot/lose power;
replace if necessary.
With the product under load, using a multi-meter, check for
high voltage drop across all connectors / fuses etc, and replace if
necessary.
|
Incorrect power connection |
The power supply may be wired incorrectly; ensure that the
installation instructions have been correctly followed.
|
Power source insufficient |
Check that your power supply (battery or distribution panel)
is providing a minimum of 10.8 V to each component in the system.
