Troubleshooting issue

User action(s)

Product does not switch on, or keeps switching off:

Blown fuse / tripped breaker:

  • Check the condition of your relevant fuses, breakers and connections, and replace if necessary.

  • If the fuse keeps blowing check for cable damage, broken connector pins or incorrect wiring between your unit, the PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) and the power source providing power to the PSE.

Poor / damaged / insecure power supply cable / connections:

  • Check to ensure that all connections (e.g. between your unit, the PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) and the power source providing power to the PSE) are secure, clean and free from corrosion. Replace if necessary.

  • Ensure that all cable connectors are correctly orientated, fully inserted and in the locked position.

  • With the unit switched on, try flexing each cable connector to see if this causes the unit to restart or lose power. Replace if necessary.

  • With the product under load, using a multi-meter, check for high voltage drop across all connectors / fuses etc, and replace if necessary.

Incorrect power connection:

  • Check to ensure that connections between your unit, the PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) and the power source providing power to the PSE are correct.

Insufficient power source:

  • Any device supplying Power over Ethernet to the CAM400 must output a supply voltage in the range of 44 V to 57 V dc.
