Mounting the camera base (through-surface cable routing)

Procedure for mounting the camera base for installations using through-surface cable routing.

Pre-requisites:

Before mounting the unit, ensure that you have:

  • Prepared the mounting surface correctly for through-surface cable routing.

  • Installed the gasket correctly for through-surface cable routing.

  1. Feed the camera cable through the 25 mm (63/64 in) cable hole in the mounting surface.
  2. Align the fixing holes in the camera base with the fixing holes in the mounting surface, and hold the camera base in place.
  3. Place the mounting hardware over the fixing screws in the following order: white plastic washers, silicone washers, and then rubber plugs.
  4. Insert the mounting hardware into the mounting holes and secure by tightening the fixing screws to a torque of 1.4 N·m (1.03 lbf·ft).
  5. Fill the center of the camera base and the cable feed hole with an appropriate marine-grade neutral-cure silicone sealant, ensuring that the exposed gasket is completely covered.
  6. If required, use a small spatula or similar tool to flatten the sealant and ensure a uniform coating all over the gasket surface and around the cable.
  7. Gently pull the camera cable through the cable feed hole until the camera ball is seated in the top of the camera base. Remove any excess sealant from the cable.
