Browser app and apk troubleshooting

The following troubleshooting applies to apps that utilize the chartplotter’s built-in web browser, (including third-party hardware integration partner shortcuts) and installed Raymarine-approved apk apps.

Note

The following apps utilize the chartplotter’s built-in web browser:

  • All third-party hardware integration shortcuts.

  • YouTube and YouTubeTV

  • YachtSense DCS app.

Browser app is slow to open or respond

Browser app cache full:

Clear the cache and cookies from the chartplotter’s built-in browser:

  • Select the Clear cache & cookies option from the Network settings menu’s Diagnostics button.

Third-party integrated hardware communication issue:

Power cycle system, including third-party integrated hardware.

apk app slow to respond, or crashes

Possible cause

Possible solutions

apk version is incompatible with the LightHouse 4 version on your chartplotter:

  1. Check that your apk version is compatible with your chartplotter: Android apk compatibility

  2. Ensure most recent apk version available on the Raymarine website is installed.

  3. Ensure that your chartplotter has the latest available version of LightHouse 4 installed.

apk cache or data issue:

Clear the apk’s data:

  1. Open the App launcher.

  2. Select and hold on the apk.

  3. Select Clear data.

Re-install the app:

  1. Open the App launcher.

  2. Select and hold on the apk.

  3. Select Uninstall application.

  4. Download the latest apk from the Raymarine website.

  5. Unzip apk to a memory card.

  6. Insert the memory card in the chartplotter.

  7. Select the Install from SD / USB button from the App launcher.

  8. Locate and select the downloaded apk.
