Chart settings

The table below lists settings applicable to the Chart app and their location within the app’s Settings menu. Available settings are dependent on the cartography in use. If a setting is not displayed then the feature is not compatible with your cartography. If a feature is grayed out then it requires a subscription to activate the feature.

Auto enter RUNNING mode:ChartRunning mode

When enabled the Chart app will automatically switch to running mode when vessel speed exceeds 10 knots, the Chart app will automatically switch to the previously used mode when vessel speed drops below 10 knots.

This setting is always available and not dependent on the cartography in use.

Enables and disables the display of AIS targets in the Chart app.

The orientation of the chart affects the alignment of the chart relative to either your vessel heading, your course or North.

Adjust the boat position to allow more or less ‘look ahead’ space in front of your boat.

Show soundingsChartShow soundings

Enables and disables the display of depth soundings on the chart. When set to Manual, depth soundings will be shown from Zero to the maximum depth you specify.

This setting is always available and not dependent on the cartography in use.

Enables and disables the display of depth contours on the chart. When set to Manual, contours will be shown from Zero to the maximum depth you specify.

Shallow areaChart Shallow area

Enables and disables identification of areas deemed to be shallow. When enabled, a red hatched area is displayed in areas shallower than the depth specified in the Zero to field.

Shallow contourChart Shallow contour

Determines the depth at which the Shallow contour is displayed. The Shallow contour cannot be set to a value greater than the Safe contour or Deep contour value.

This setting is available when using LightHouse™ and legacy LightHouse™ charts.

Numeric depth value

Safe contourChart Safe contour

Determines the depth at which the Safe contour is displayed.

The Safe contour cannot be set to a value that is less than the Shallow contour or greater than the Deep contour.

This setting is available when using LightHouse™ and legacy LightHouse™ charts.

Determines the depth at which the deep contour.

This setting is always available and not dependent on the cartography in use.

Allows you to specify the color used to identify deep water

Fishing Zone:Fishing zone

You can set up a Fishing zone by enabling Fishing zone and specifying a minimum depth and maximum depth. Areas on the chart that are between these depths will be colored White, areas outside of these depths will be colored Blue.

Allows logging of depth and position data to your Navionics chart card.
