Troubleshooting Wind data

Wind data is set to True wind and there is no Speed Through Water (STW) data available.

  1. Set wind data to Apparent and check for wind data.

  2. If wind data appears, and you require True wind instead, check the source of STW data.

Wind transducer connection problem.

  1. Check cabling to ensure it is free from damage.

  2. Check the cable junction box (usually located at the bottom of the mast) for damage and corrosion, and ensure that connections are clean and secure. Repair and replace as necessary.

  3. Check connections to display or converter for damage and corrosion, and ensure that connections are clean and secure. Repair and replace as necessary.

  4. Disconnect the wind vane arm and check arm and base connectors for damage and corrosion. Ensure that they are clean and secure, and repair and replace as necessary.

Data appears to be incorrect

Wind transducer has not been calibrated, or has lost its calibration settings.

  1. Re-calibrate the wind transducer. Refer to the operations instructions supplied with your display for calibration procedures.
