  • Check the cable connection for the port.

  • Check any additional connections.

  • Check that the unit connected to the switch is powered on.

  • Check that the unit connected to the switch is currently transferring data. This can be confirmed by performing an action on the multifunction display / chartplotter that initiates data transfer for the relevant unit — for example, if you suspect a problem with the port corresponding to a connected radar scanner, range in or out in the radar application to initiate data activity.
