Power connection — Volvo® Penta EVC interface

The Volvo® Penta EVC interface unit requires a 12 V power source, which must be provided to the EVC unit via a battery.

  • If your vessel has a 24 V supply, a suitable voltage convertor is required.

  • The power source must be protected by a 5 A fuse or a circuit breaker providing equivalent protection.

  • The Volvo® Penta EVC interface unit must be connected to a 12 V dc power source via a dedicated SeaTalk NG backbone.

  • The supplied DeviceNet to SeaTalk NG adapter cable must be used to connect the Volvo® Penta EVC interface unit to the dedicated SeaTalk NG backbone. This cable carries both data and power signals to the EVC unit.
