STEDS messaging transmission FIDs and checksums
The SITREP and Static data Functional IDs (FIDs) and FID checksum validation can be enabled or disabled from the Advanced set-up menu: .
STEDS messages
Assets that frequently need to switch between AIS Normal and AIS Restricted modes can use the Transmit BFT in Normal AIS mode setting to disable the transmission of BlueForce tracking messages, whilst running in AIS Normal mode. This will prevent unnecessary load on the VHF data link. When Transmit BFT in Normal AIS mode is disabled no Static data or SITREP FIDs will be transmitted regardless of FID toggle switch position.
First responder FIDThe following transmission SITREP and Static data FIDs can be enabled or disabled as required:
Tx FID 10 (SITREP)
Tx FID 11 (Static data)
Tx FID 56 (Legacy SITREP)
Tx FID 57 (Legacy static data)
FID 10 and FID 11 are enabled by default. FID 56 and FID 57 are disabled by default.
